How to fax from an iPhone
You don't need a fax machine or a phone line to fax from an iPhone. An online fax service sends the document over the internet and delivers it to a regular fax machine on the other end.
What you need
- Your iPhone with Safari or any browser.
- The document as a PDF or a photo. The iPhone Files app can scan paper: open Files, tap the three dots, then Scan Documents.
- The recipient's fax number, including the area code.
Steps
- Go to unlimitedfaxing.com and start a free trial (approve with PayPal, cancel before it ends), or sign in.
- Open Send a fax.
- Type the fax number.
- Choose your PDF or scan from the Files app.
- Add a cover sheet if you want one, then tap Send.
- Check the status on your fax list. You'll see when it's delivered or if it failed.
Tips for a clean fax
- Scan in good light and on a flat, dark surface so the edges are sharp.
- Fax machines print in black and white, so pale colors may disappear. Use dark ink.
- Check the page count before you send. Each page counts toward your plan.
